About the Author

Gloria Hollander Lyon is one of the youngest to survive the horrors of the concentration camps during the Holocaust. Despite great losses, the impact on her health, and recurring nightmares, she was able to start a new life in America. She continued her education, established a career, and raised a family in her new home. She believes it is her sacred obligation to bear witness and hopes that telling her story will touch each reader so that they will remember and pass on the shocking truth about the Holocaust.

In 1991, Gloria returned to Europe to retrace her fateful steps to Auschwitz. Pleasant memories of her childhood came flooding back when she stopped at a grapevine in what had been her family’s vineyard in the Nagy Bereg hills.
